Reformed Golf Junkie – I started playing golf when I was 7 years old. Lucky for me my grandparents spent summers on a golf course near where I lived, so the game was easily accessible to me. Back in the day I think back in the day you had to be at least 12 before you could actually play on a course, so chipping and putting became my go to summer activity. To this day I honestly believe the hours I spent putting (day & night) across the fairway from my grandparents house is the reason I am as passionate and obsessed with this game!
Averaging 50+ rounds a year my handicap was a solid 3 until I was about 27, then I just got burned out, didn’t practice anymore, and started playing less then a dozen rounds a year. It is tough to stay on top of your game when you sometimes go 2-3 months without even swinging a club (I work in golf retail, go figure). Now that I am a little older and with a family, setting aside time to play is getting tougher and tougher. So I have reverted back to my younger days, but now instead of running across the fairway to practice putting, my living room will have to do.
